The European Network of Cultural Centres (ENCC) is a community of 82 members from 27 countries. Our main action lines are capacity building, networking and advocacy. We organise conferences, trainings and staff exchanges, participate in research, data gathering and formulation of policy recommendations, create tools and publications, and connect our members with other actors from the cultural sector.

We are recruiting for a part-time MEMBERSHIP OFFICER to support the development of the network and its membership, as well as to curate members relations by acting as the first point of contact for the organisation. We are looking for a dynamic and motivated person to join our international team based in Brussels from October 2023.

task description

The selected person will mainly be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Development, implementation and follow-up of Membership strategy in collaboration with team and Board;
  • Development, implementation and follow-up of Membership activities (e.g. organisation of an annual strategy meeting and other meetings for regional and national networks, surveys, recruitment/prospection/networking, data collection and management, encouraging the involvement of members in the preparation and implementation of ENCC activities);
  • Communication with and about ENCC members;
  • Ensuring organised filing and archiving of documents and information related to members, including payments;
  • Carrying out other clerical and logistical tasks that may arise or are needed in order to properly implement the above-mentioned activities;
  • Leading the selection process for new members, in cooperation with the ENCC board.

Additionally, the person will also be asked to attend staff meetings and to contribute to the implementation and development of the ENCC CUBE project and ENCC Strategic Plan 2021-25, if needed.

required Competences:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English;
  • Ability to work independently as part of a team;
  • Very good organisational skills;
  • Networking capacities and public speaking skills;
  • Experience within memberhsip organizations is an asset;
  • Experience in the socio-cultural sector is an asset;
  • Knowledge of other languages is a plus.

what we offer

  • This is a part-time position (20hr), located in Brussels, Belgium. 
  • The wage is based on the scales B2a of the PC 329.01 for the cultural sector, inclusive of holiday pay and year-end bonus (awarded as provided for in the collective labor agreement of 8 march 2006 on the granting of a year-end bonus in the socio-cultural work).
