The European Network of Cultural Centres (ENCC) is a community of 153 members from over 37 countries. Our main action lines are capacity building, networking and advocacy. We organise conferences, trainings and staff exchanges, participate in research, data gathering and formulation of policy recommendations, create tools and publications, and connect our members with other actors from the cultural sector. We are looking for a proactive and organised individual to join our team, focusing on administration and logistics. The selected candidate will work closely with our team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations. This role offers a unique opportunity to be part of a dynamic team working on impactful projects within the cultural sector.

- ACS eligibility* is strictly required, only candidates meeting the requirement will be considered);
- Proficient spoken and written English, our working language;
- Good organisational and logistic skills; Good project management skills;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team;
- Familiarity with office software and communication tools;
- Interest in the cultural field;
- experience in the socio-cultural sector is a plus;
- knowledge of Dutch is a plus;
- Knowledge of financial processes and event planning is a plus;
- Understanding of Belgian regulations or a willingness to learn is desirable.
key responsibilities:
The selected person will work on administration and logistics, in collaboration with our Team. Main tasks include:
- Act as the liaison between the ENCC office and our accountant, managing financial processes such as reimbursement requests, invoicing, and archiving agreements.
- Oversee general office tasks, including filing, generating reports and presentations, organizing meetings, and maintaining office supplies.
- Respond to various information requests, with a focus on managing the general ENCC email address and ensuring prompt communication.
- Assist in organizing both online and in-person events, taking place in Brussels and at other locations.
- Support the Communication Manager with gathering member information and assisting with the preparation of newsletters and annual reports.
- Manage administrative tasks related to ENCC members, working closely with the Membership Officer Coordinate travel arrangements for team members and visiting guests.
- Handle logistics related to events, meetings, and day-to-day office requirements Maintain archives, ensuring that documents are organized and easily accessible
- Oversee the upkeep of office equipment, including computers, and liaise with the building manager to manage any facility-related issues.
- Support colleagues in their daily tasks, particularly in financial reporting. Participate actively in staff meetings and contribute to team discussions and strategic planning.
*Note: This position is opened within the frame of ACS/GECO programme. Thus, applicants are required to meet a number of conditions, including: be a resident of Brussels, be registered as unemployed since at least 6 months (or have received one full day of paid unemployment if they are over the age of 40), have no higher qualifications than a secondary school degree (this position is reserved for candidates who do not have a university degree, or hold a degree from a university or other institution outside of Belgium). This is an interesting position for atypical candidates who have done their learning outside of higher education, or for candidates with degrees from other countries than Belgium, who have not gone through the equivalence process.
what we offer:
- This is a full time position (38hr/week) located in Brussels, Belgium;
- The salary is based on the scales B2a of the PC 329.01 for the cultural sector, inclusive of holiday pay and year-end bonus (awarded as provided for in the collective labor agreement of 8 march 2006 on the granting of a year-end bonus in the socio-cultural work);
- The contract offered is an unlimited contract;
- Luncheon vouchers and a monthly contribution towards use of public transportation.
